What does C.A.R.D. stand for?
Technically, C.A.R.D. stands for Connect, Attend, Revitalize, and Develop.
Conceptually, C.A.R.D stands for, “Get off your proverbial buttocks, and get the show on the road.”
Why would I pay to be a part of an arts community?
You are doing more than joining a community. You are pooling your financial resources to share staff and access experience in order to build a healthy, sustainable, creative career.
Consider the cost of independently having to pay for a photographer, editor, career consultant, life-coach, and yoga classes. When you are a
C.A.R.D. member,
you get it all for one low monthly fee.
What if I need more help than the membership provides?
If you have a ton of work that needs to be photographed, content that needs to be written for your website, or additional career coaching, you get 30% off the cost of these additional services. Also, we can create payment plans for members in order to make larger projects – such as new websites - more affordable.
How does being a C.A.R.D. member increase my exposure?
It brings you, your work, and your work ethic to the attention of
La Familia
Gallery who works with a variety of other spaces and artist representatives. In addition, this program offers a forum for creative networking. You will have the opportunity to take full advantage of the connections you make within the C.A.R.D. community.
The C.A.R.D. community is made up of collectors as well as artists. They can check out your work on your member profile, review your website, and follow your career.
Your events are eligible for inclusion on the C.A.R.D. calendar of events and in
La Familia
Gallery’s monthly newsletter.
I understand why artists need this service, but why would a collector care?
As a collector, there is a lot more to building a strong collection than meets the eye. There is documentation to be done, artists’ careers to be followed, and new artists to be found.
When you join as a collector, we help you get your collection in order. We also alert you to up-and-coming artists you might be interested in, and we connect you with other collectors who share your passion for the arts.
Why in the heck would an art gallery create a program like C.A.R.D.?
You will hear
La Familia
talk about sustainability a lot, and this is no exception. The C.A.R.D. community is about offering a sustainable source of services and support to Seattle’s creative community.
We do this because we want Seattle’s artists to be internationally relevant and nationally renowned. Of course, that will never happen if the proper documentation of work, artists careers, and collections isn’t complete. It also won't happen if artists aren’t given the basic information and tools they need to be successful.
C.A.R.D. memberships are designed to fill-in the gaps and create a strong support system that allows artists to reach their full potential in a timely and effective manner.
